Comment:
Badly stained thick film. Compare with other Plasmodium spp. (research) slides which have been prepared using different amounts of blood to determine the best method to diagnose the parasite infection. Too much blood and too much heat has been used which fixes the blood to the slide. It is best to make the smears from native blood (ie. without anti-coagulant) as anticoagulant can distort the parasites.
